OLO – MÆRKBART – KOUVOLA, FINLAND + ØREGAARD MUSEEUM, DENMARK

‘Olo – Mærkbart’ (Olo – Palpable) presented 29 craft makers and designers from Finland and Denmark. Pia Jensen was selected along with her workshop colleague Amelie Tillgren and their joint piece ‘Magnifying Disturbance’, a kaleidoscopic display of interacting colours and forms that told its own story about the impact of shared everyday life.

The Danish makers experienced how different the two countries’ artistic expressions are, despite their close Nordic kinship.

The exhibition’s bilingual title, ‘Olo – Mærkbart’, referred to impressions and sensuousness and the exhibition’s underlying premise of speaking to our senses and engagement with materials, techniques and stories.

The exhibition was a collaboration between Danish Crafts & Design Association and the Finnish Artists O Association to mark the two associations’ respective 40th and 10th anniversaries in 2016.
