“Always starting from the loom…

at KulturStationen i Humlebæk, Humlebæk Center 44, 3050 Humlebæk

 

Throughout my more than 40 years of “living with the threads”, I have, approximately every ten years, “broken out of the loom” and have experimented with other materials (wood, acrylic, plaster, concrete, bamboo, felt, steel), other expressions – both alone and in collaboration with other artists – in order to also convey my view of the world and, in the broadest sense, the possible influence of the craftsman on “useful art”. I would like to delight and arouse curiosity, ask questions about how we see and perceive space, and be in dialogue with the audience.

 

The woven carpets, and works in other materials, have always been exhibited separately – now I am taking the leap and showing for the first time, at KulturStationen in Humlebæk, both sides of my practice in the same space.

Come by and see the large carpet “Desert Dune” in interaction with bamboo benches – from the “modules for life, play and learning” project I am collaborating with the American artist Matt McConnell on; a “Moorish hexagon” work in dialogue with the carpet “Circle in Circle in”; film that shows several aspects of my practice, including the play with “geometric figures” I tested in 2022 and would like to develop new collaborations with kindergartens and schools on – new works that for me merge my artistic expressions and perhaps point back to the loom.
The loom, which is my tool, my approach and the starting point my artistic thought always originates from, hence the title “Always starting from the loom …

 

Everyone is welcome, bring a friend. There will be a vernissage on Constitution Day, June 5, 2026 at 3 – 5 PM
After that, it will be open Friday – Sunday from 2 – 5 PM and an artist talk on Sunday, June 14 at 2:30 PM

I will be present myself every day.
